Settings: Features

Features is where you decide what ReservationBay is, for your company. Owner only.

The screen says it plainly: turn features on or off for your whole company. A disabled feature disappears from the menu.

How it works

A list of the optional features with an on/off switch each. Save, and the change takes effect immediately for everyone.

The features you can switch: Reports, Reviews, Bundles, Extras & waivers, Discount codes, Vouchers, Documents, Signatures, Integrations and Administration.

The core features (dashboard, bookings, customers, locations, objects and payments) are not on this list. They are the product; there is no version of ReservationBay without them.

For what each feature gives you, see The feature catalogue.

What happens when you switch something off

  • It disappears from everyone's menu.
  • Its pages stop being reachable; going to one takes you back to the dashboard.
  • Nothing is deleted.

Your vouchers, reviews, discount codes and templates all survive. Switching the feature back on brings them back exactly as they were.

Why switch anything off?

Because a menu of twenty items where you use nine is a menu people stop reading. A bike shop that never issues gift cards and never signs contracts has a much easier portal for its summer staff with those two switches off.

Features and staff

This screen is the first of two gates. It decides what your company has. Settings → Users decides which of those a staff member may use.

A feature switched off here cannot be granted to anyone, however their user row is ticked. The company's decision always wins.

What the switches do not do

Switching a feature off hides it from the portal. Treat it as a way to simplify your team's day, not as a security control. For access control, use roles.
