What your customer sees, step by step
The widget walks a visitor through five steps, with a progress list showing where they are. They can go back at any point.
1. Location
If you have more than one location, they pick where they want to collect from, with the photo and address you set under Locations.
With a single location this step is skipped.
2. Period
They pick a start date and time and an end date and time.
Alongside the calendar, your opening hours for that location are shown per weekday, with closed days marked as closed. Times outside your hours cannot be chosen and closed days cannot be booked.
If a category has rules — a minimum period, a maximum, changeover days — a period that breaks them is refused here, with the reason and the actual number: "the minimum rental is 3 days", "rentals start on Saturday".
3. Objects
The heart of it. For the period they chose, they see what you have.
- Each category with its price per day and how many are still free.
- Sold out on anything that is not available.
- A size picker where the category requires one, with availability per size. A booking with a size missing is refused: please choose a size for each object you selected.
- A time slot picker where you publish departures. If there are none that day, it says so: there are no departures on this day.
- Bundles, with what is still available.
- Optional extras — helmets, child seats, a damage waiver — with the stock still free.
4. Personal details
Name, email address, mobile phone number, and address (postal code, house number, addition, street, city).
They also tick I agree to the terms and conditions. That tick is what makes the booking an agreement, so it is required.
5. Payment
The booking summary — period, subtotal, deposit and total — and then the payment.
They pick from the methods you switched on for that location, or choose pay in store if you allow it, and are taken to a checkout carrying your design. Your customer never sees the payment provider.
A discount code or gift card entered earlier is settled here, at what it is actually worth for this booking.
Confirmation
Booking completed. Thank you for creating a booking. You will receive a confirmation by email shortly.
The confirmation email carries an .ics calendar attachment, so the rental drops into their own calendar with one tap.
What happens on your side
- The booking appears in your list with source Widget and status New.
- It shows in your day calendars in the widget colour.
- Its objects are reserved immediately — nobody else can take them, at the counter or online.
- You confirm it, and the customer gets a confirmation.
You get an email or an SMS about it if you switched those on under Settings → Email & SMS.
In their own language
The whole flow, and every refusal in it, is shown in the visitor's own language. So is everything sent to them afterwards.
If nothing is available
The widget says so — and writes the refusal down: which category, for which period. That becomes your demand against stock report, the one that tells you what to buy more of.
